I learned a huge amount on Darkspore and got a ton of solid sci-fi concept work under my belt. Really a fantastic project for an artist. I also worked with a motion.

With the help of some Darkspore community members, I'm currently recording some gameplay videos of Darkspore on my YouTube channel, Abe's Mission Control.I don't currently play Spore, but as soon as Darkspore goes offline I plan to pick it up and get started. Apparently there is a Darkspore Creature mod for Spore. It'll be the first mod I install:)I've looked around for other Darkspore material / memorabilia.

So far:- There's a ton of concept art that has been posted to deviantart.- The original Darkspore website is preserved at; at the moment the links to download the game and launcher / patcher still work, though I expect them to go offline with the game. The game download only progresses through the demo, then a license key is required.- The soundtrack is currently $3.99 on iTunes.- Search 'Darkspore developer' on YouTube, and you'll get a number of videos with developer discussion and commentary.I was relatively late to the Darkspore party, only picking the game up about 8 months ago. I've been having a great time with game, and it just ticks me that I got it so late.If anybody has any other (preferably legitimate) resources to share - like original HD wallpaper if there was any, petitions for 3rd party server patches (some people have discussed this on these forums), or really anything else that might save this game - please share them here.Personally, I would love for GOG to license this title for their store. Krosmaster arena board game rules. Kind of a bummer ending for the game, no fanfare or anything, not even a server message, you just got booted out of the mission and back to the arsenal screen, where the only thing you could interact with was the chat lobbyInteresting to have seen it to the end at least, and like the OP, I hope for the game to come GOG. There really wasn't anything about it that should've required a server connection, they just forced that feature in there, and I hope there'll be a way to play it without that down the line. I certainly don't think it'll happen, but I really hope someone will make it possible.

I've owned Darkspore since 2012 but I didn't really play it much. I've got 4 hours clocked in total and even though I didn't play much of it, it was still a nice bit of entertainment.

Sadly I wasn't there to see Darkspore off, I just kind of forgot about it, a lot of people have. Even though I never played much of it, I would have liked for this game to be preserved in someway. Unfortunately with corporate juggernauts like EA that don't really care about their fanbase, combined with the fact that most of the gaming community has forgotten that this game even exists, the chances of that actually happening are pretty much zero. Now I'm wondering what will happen to this community hub, chances are that valve will close it down sadly, since at this point the game is literally unplayable.

I'm pretty sure we all would like for this game to be saved, kept alive. But sadly this will probably never happen.I will definitely watch your playlist Mysteryem to remember this game and see it off.

I was actually recording as the servers went offline (video to come soon).Not sure what Steam will do with these forums.For those interested, there is a newly formed Steam group called. The group founder has extracted / modified the Darkspore creature creator from the game and fashioned it into a mod for Spore. Haven't tried it myself, but plan to shortly. Well it's good to know that at least some part of Darkspore will live on.

Since I own spore I'll be trying out that Darkspore mod, and I'll also be watching your video of when Darkspore shutdown when you post it.
